artist statement
Harrison Pond (he/him) grew up on a farm in central Virginia with an enjoyment for stories. Whether it be book trilogies or movie series, he enjoyed becoming engrossed in fiction. The ability of visual media to envelope one’s thoughts and allow them to enter a different realm is the essence of his curiosity. Currently, most of his works are digital with some oil paintings and drawn pieces incLUDed. All of these take place in fictional settings of his own creation. Harrison is now attending Virginia Tech and working towards a BFA in Studio Art. they were originally accepted as an astrophysics major, however their love for the cosmos made the journey across majors to their studio art projects. They are currently working on their senior project, which will incorperate all of the experiences from the studio art major to provide the most immersive and mind trapping experience.
